It is with humility and honor that I announce my candidacy for Civil Court Judge of Kings County 2nd Municipal District, Brooklyn, New York.
I have served the legal profession diligently as a zealous attorney for nearly two decades and consistently serve the Brooklyn community tirelessly as an advocate for legal awareness and access to the law for all!
As a board director of the Metropolitan Black Bar Association, I implemented programs where attorneys came into the community and provided legal information and assistance to the underserved. I work side by side with the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office and Brooklyn Churches as the lead community attorney for project Safe Surrender to ensure that Brooklyn residents clear their minor c-warrants for free at local churches. As Chair of the Metropolitan Black Bar Civil Rights Committee, I host legal seminars for the Brooklyn community and organize attorneys to enlighten all voters of the voting laws, ensure voters access to the polls and encourage citizens to register to vote. Because of my commitment to ensuring the voting laws are in the best interest of New Yorkers, I was appointed to serve on the New York State Bar Special Committee on Voter Participation (2012-2013).
I litigate in Appellate Court, Supreme Court, Civil Court and Housing Court gaining valuable insight into the duties and responsibilities of judges serving in the New York State Unified Court System. My education, experience and commitment to the legal profession will allow me to be an impartial and fair judge.
I will listen to both sides and afford all litigants before me a respectful, courteous and dignified day in court.
